ABOUT ME
First name Deonna, middle name Soray, commonly called Dee. I am the proud Juneteenth born, African American woman behind the works of By DeeSoray. I was born and currently resided in South Carolina, where as a yarnie, I can be found crafting comfort, one skein at a time. In January 2025, I graduated with a Bachelors degree in General Studies.
[Written Jan 2025] I will be working to obtain my Masters degree in Human Resources March 2025.
With a Bachelor's in General Studies, I have a well-rounded foundation that fuels my artistic endeavors.

THE JOURNEY
I've always been a worker since the age of 18. I've always been one to remain busy. There came a time when I left the workforce to focus on obtaining my Bachelors degree in General Studies. During the unoccupied times after classes, I got an itch... "I have to do something," yet, I didn't know what to do.
JAN 2024 YouTube recommended me a rug tufting video by RugTrade, where the artist was making a Mario Mushroom Rug. I watched the video for a week straight, took notes, studied movements and materials.
I then knew what I wanted to (try to) do.
